Chapter 2 in The Great Gatsby

How do you feel about the characters that you have met in The Great Gatsby so far?  Do any of the characters remind you of anybody that you know? How have the female characters been portrayed so far?

I like of the characters as characters, but as a person I am not fond of Tom. Tom thinks the world revolves around him and he thinks he can get away with anything he wants. Also, he is disloyal to Daisy by having a mistress, even though she is aware of it. Daisy reminds me of my friend Chloe because they both act like they are the queen of everything and they think that people must go by their rules. It is their way or no way. Woman play an important role in the story. The woman are either powerful or objectified. Daisy is portrayed as the queen of every situation she has been in, Jordan has been portrayed as Daisy's "servant," she goes along with what ever Daisy says, and Toms mistress Myrtle is portrayed as a an object for Tom.
